Puutarhakeiju tekstiiliveistos - Garden fairy

No nyt se on valmis! Paverpol -aineella tehty puutarhakeiju sai hamosen jo jokin aika sitten, ja tänään valmistui jalusta. Valoin jalustan alaosaan betonilaatan, ja upotin siihen putken. Keijussa oleva tanko sopii putkeen, ja nyt keiju lentelee paljon korkeammalla kuin se olisi maahan upotettuna! Jalustakin on tehty kankaalla päällystäen, ja nuo vartta kiertävät kukkaset ovat silkkikukkia, jotka käsittelin moneen kertaan Paverpolilla. Keiju on 50 cm pitkä, ja jalustoineen 130 cm korkea. Nyt vain odotellaan kevättä, että keiju pääsee puutarhaan liihottelemaan, mutta ennen sitä se menee kansalaisopiston kevätnäyttelyyn muutamaksi viikoksi.

Now she is finished! The garden fairy got skirt some time ago, but today I finished the base! I made a concrete slab on the bottom of the base, and in the middle of it stands a tube in which the rod in the fairy fits perfectly. Now she flies a lot higher than she would have with the rod sticked in the ground! The base is also covered with fabric, and the flowers are slik flowers covered several times with Paverpol. The fairy is 50 cm (20") tall, and with base 130 cm (4' and 3"). Now she is just waiting for the spring so she gets out in the garden, but before that she will go in the folk college art exhibition for a few weeks.

Nallejoukko - Bunch of teddies

Viimeinen nallekurssi tälle lukuvuodelle on päättynyt, ja tässä kurssilaisten ihania pörröturkkeja. Tällä kertaa kurssi oli tupaten täysi, kolmetoista kurssilaista piti minut aika kiireisenä... mutta mukavaa oli! Kiitos kaikille kurssilaisille!

The last teddy bear class for this schoolyear is finished, and here are some adorable fyzzy creatures my students made. This time I had super full course, I had thirteen students and they kept me really busy, but it was fun!

Runko - Armature

Runko on valmis, nyt odotellaan sen kuivumista, että pääsen kasvoja muotoilemaan! Vähän pitää säätää tuota asentoa vielä (vuolla selästä), ei ole ihan sama kuin luonnoksessa.

The armature is finished, now just waiting for it to dry, so I can start her face! I have to adjust a bit her pose (carve her back) it isn't exactly the same than in the sketch.

Merenneitoluonnos - Mermaid sketch

Aloittelen juuri tilaustyötä, josta tulee merenneito. Tämä piir- tämäni luonnos on mallina. Jalusta on melkein valmis, oli mielenkiintoista saada merenneito "leijumaan" ilmassa, siis kellumaan vedessä... kuvia tulee kunhan on jotain näyttämistä.

I am making a commission sculpture, a mermaid. This is a sketch I have drawn, she will be based on it. The base is almost finished, it was very interesting to get the mermaid floating in the air - like in water... I'll post pics when I have something to show.
