Haistan kevään - I can smell spring

Ihan selvästi ulkona tuoksuu jo keväälle. Aurinko paistaa ja lämmittää, räystäillä lotisee, ja pari pientä plänttiä on jo paljastanut hiekkaa portinpielessä! En malta odottaa, kevät tulee... Mutta tuo timjami tuskin heräilee kevääseen, se jäi isossa ruukussa pihalle.


It is clearly smelling like spring is coming. Sun shines and is much more warming than winter sun, the eaves are dripping, and  a couple of tiny spots of sand is exposed beside the gate! I can't wait for the spring really come... But that thyme will unlikely wake up, I left it out for winter in a big pot.

Montakohan kertaa olen saanut käydä hakemassa tätä meidän pientä karvakaveria karkuteiltä... ei onneksi mene kauas, tuohon myllyaukiolle asti.  Natalla on kova hinku perään, jos joku lähtee pyörällä pihasta, ja viivana ollaan sitten oltu karkuteillä. Viime kesänä aloimme rakentaa tontin ympärille aitaa, ja viimein jokunen viikko sitten se saatiin kokonaan valmiiksi. Nyt ei pikku vintiö karkaile! Tien puolella on kaunista punamultaista puuaitaa, ja metsän reunassa hyvin maastoutuvaa vihreää verkkoaitaa. Erityisen onnellinen olen tuosta ihanasta kukkaportista, jonka mieheni teki. ♥ Joka kerta siitä kulkiessa jaksan sitä ihailla.  Olen aina haaveillut aidatusta pihasta ja vähän erilaisesta portista, ja niin se haave sitten toteutui!

I wonder how many times I have collected this little furry friend home from a short runaway. Nata wants so badly to go along every time someone leaves the yard with a bicycle. And off she goes. Last summer we started to build a fence around our property, and a few weeks ago it finally was all finished. Now the little rascal will stay in! We built beautiful red wooden picket fence on the roadside, and put camouflaging green metal netting on the forest sides. I am especially happy about that lovely flower gate that my husband made. ♥ Every time I go through it I have to admire it. I have always dreamed about picket fence and a bit different gate, now that dream came true.

Ei voi olla hymyilemättä kun toinen hymyilee takaisin. Anteeksi hiljaisuus, on ollut vähän muuta puuhaa eikä minusta ole kuulunut. Mutta eiköhän se pian korjaannu.

Don't you just have to smile when she smiles back to you. Sorry, I have been busy, and haven't made any notes here for a while. But things will get going soon, I think.

Uusi perheenjäsen - New family member

Meille on tullut uusi perheenjäsen! Pikkuinen havannankoira Nata, 4 kk. Neiti muutti meille vasta muutama päivä sitten, ja onhan tämä nyt ihan ihmeellistä seurata tuon pienen koiran touhuiluja. Jatkan töitä kunhan Nata kotiutuu vähän paremmin, uusi työ on jo alussa; itse asiassa kaksi päätä odottaa vartaloita!

We have a new family member! Little Bichon Havanais 'Nata', four months old. She moved to our home only some days ago, and it is so wonderful to see her playing and doing funny things. I will continue working when Nata feels a bit more at home, I have started a new work; actually I have made two heads and they are waiting for bodies!
