Sininen hetki - Blue moment

Sininen hetki, taianomainen, lumoava tunnelma hämärän saapuessa. Lumimyrsky raivoaa ulkona mutta sisällä on lämmintä ja kodikasta.

Blue moment, magical, enchanting atmosphere in the twilight. Snowstorm is raging outside, but it is warm and cozy in the house.

Fantasiamaailma - - - - - - - - - - Fantasy World

Mikä on fantasiaa? Kaikki mitä voit kuvitella, vaikka et olisi koskaan sellaista oikeasti nähnytkään. Onko se totta vai onko se satua... sitähän ei voi tietää. Keijukaiset, haltijat, hegettäret, merenneidot, seireenit, noidat, velhot, peikot ja maahiset. Niihin Suomessakin uskottiin ennen vanhaan ihan tosissaan. Kukapa ei olisi kuullut kertomuksia kotitontuista, noista joulutonttujen sukulaisista. Maan alla oli toinen outojen olentojen maailma ja keijukaiset olivat nykypäivän saduista poiketen ilkikurisia, viekkaita, vietteleviä ja jopa pahoja olentoja, jotka saattoivat houkutella varomattoman ikuisiksi ajoiksi omaan lumottuun maailmaansa. Mihin sinä uskot? Näillä sivuilla voit kokea jotain taianomaista, ja pääset salaa kurkistamaan mystisten olentojen unenomaiseen maahan.

What is fantasy? Anything you can imagine, even if you had never seen it. Is it true or is it fake... that you just don't know for sure. Fairies, elves, spirits, sprites, mermaids, seirens, whitches, wizards, trolls, gnomes. In the old times people used to truly believe in them. Who wouldn't have heard tales of house gnomes, those little relatives of Christmas elves. There was another strange underground world, and fairies were something else than nice, beautiful fairy-tale sweethearts. They were mischievous, cunning, seductive and even evil beings, who could attract a careless person to their enchanted world forever. What do you believe in? You can experience something magical here, and you may sneak into the dreamlike world of the mystical beings.

Veistoksia vai nukkeja? - Sculptures or Dolls?

Veistoksia! Koska - nukella voi leikkiä, ainakin periaatteessa. No taidenukeilla ei tietenkään varsinaisesti leikitä. Nuken raajat yleensä liikkuvat, ja monesti vaatteet ovat riisuttavat/puettavat. Veistos perinteisesti mielletään pelkästään kovasta materiaalista tehdyksi taide-esineeksi, joten määrittely nuken ja veistoksen välillä näissä töissäni on vähän häilyvä, näillähän on päälle liimatut vaatteet - no, asut - ja hiukset. Eivät ihan perinteisiä veistoksia siis. Mutta miellän ne kumminkin veistoksiksi, enkä mielelläni puhu niistä nukkeina!

Sculptures! Because - you can play with a doll, basically. Well, you don't really play with art dolls though. The limbs of a doll are usually posable, and you also can dress/undress a doll. A sculpture is traditionally an art piece made from hard material, so the line between a doll or a sculpture is thin in my work. They do have outfits glued on, and they do hyave real hair. Not traditional sculptures as you could say. But I think they are sculptures, and don't like to use the word doll when talking about them!
