Katto ja uuni - Ceiling and the fireplace

Nyt on katto melkein valmis, puuttuu vain pienet listat, jotka peittävät paneelien päät. Vanhat kattolankuthan olivat niin likaiset (nokea ja savea), että niitä ei saatu puhtaaksi, joten päätimme peittää vanhojen hirsien välit uusilla leveillä paneeleilla, jotka käsiteltiin vanhan puun värisiksi. Ja minusta katto on kyllä aika upea. :)

Now the ceiling is almost finished, we will only add small moldings beside the beams to cover the ends of the panels. The old ceiling boards were so dirty (soot and clay) that we couldnt get them clean, so we decided to put new panels between the old beams, and stained them to look like old wood. And I think the ceiling is pretty gorgeous!


Uuni on vasta "raakile", siihen tulee kohokuviokoristelua ja ehkä maalauksia.

The fireplace is not finished, it will get some relief decoration and maybe some paintings.
